Information we collect
You can use every tool on this site without giving us your name or creating an account. The answers you type into checklists and calculators are saved in your own browser on your own device, and we never receive them.
If you choose to join the email list, we store the email address you give us so we can send updates. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
We record basic, anonymous usage events — such as which tool was opened or printed — so we can see which parts of the guide are useful. These events do not contain your name, your answers or your contact details.
Cookies and advertising
This site shows advertising supplied by Google. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
Where required, Google and its partners will ask for consent to use cookies for personalised advertising and measurement before any such cookies are set.
Affiliate and partner links
Some links may be affiliate links, which means we could earn a small commission if you buy something. Any such link is labelled on the page where it appears. Commission never changes what we recommend, and we do not accept payment for placement in our guides.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. In practice the only personal information we usually hold is an email address you gave us yourself.
To make a request, or to ask anything about this policy, contact us through the site. If you are unhappy with how we respond, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
This site is written for adults dealing with a death or planning ahead. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when the way we handle information changes. The review date at the top of the page shows when it was last checked.
